Remarks from 1997 Festival Participants
I can now truly say that I feel like a budding theremin player and not just a collector/hobbyist.

The group aspect of this event was incredible. I had never been with a group of people so diverse, so intelligent, and so interested in a common item — the theremin.

Sleep was not an option at this Festival — we had too much talking and theremin-playing to do!

The magic of the events will live with us for a long time, and we will always have a common ground to start conversations from. I can truly say there will never be another event quite like this, and that I feel honored to have had the opportunity and good fortune to participate.

I could not help but think to myself as I sat listening to this, that it was the greatest thing going on in the universe at that moment, and that I was there experiencing it. What a great feeling!

Lydia Kavina was stunning. Everyone fell in love with her. She is gracious, extremely bright, very funny and thoroughly professional.

Bob Moog is a gem. He was very generous with all of us, and for a man of his stature in his field, it was a real treat for all of us that he made himself so accessible and approachable.

The whole thing was exhilarating!

It will take me several years to absorb all I learned at the first Institute. Thank you.

Private lessons with famous and important players were a real incentive to attend.

I left there feeling I can actually do this... with a lot of practice.

I met many intelligent, funny and generous people. You could feel the love. This contributed to a positive and conducive learning environment.

It exceeded so many of my expectations it boggles the mind. This was one of the greatest events I've ever been a part of, if not the single greatest. Words fail me to describe how wonderful it was.

A great bunch of folks!
